Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) has announced that the first meeting of the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG) will take place in Kuala Lumpur on November 4th and 5th, 2009. The chairman of MASB Encik Mohammad Faiz Azmi said they are honoured to organise the meeting and look forward to a successful event in November.

The AOSSG is a grouping of accounting standard setters in Asia and Oceania region, an initiative started by China, Japan and Korea in October 2008. The Ministry of Finance, China, thereafter, hosted a Preparatory Meeting of the AOSSG in Beijing in April this year. One of the primary objectives of AOSSG is to provide a common forum for countries in Asia and Oceania to give inputs to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in the development of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).

According to the MASB, the discussions during the first meeting will include views on the fair value measurement, the presentation of financial statements, revenue recognition and IAS 39.

As such, AXP is delighted to show our support to MASB and we are proud to be one of the sponsors of the above event. |
