AXP and TAR College have signed a MoU which will enable our two organizations to work together towards an holistic approach in teaching and learning auditing.

The MoU was signed by Mr Ken Lai, AXP’s director and Dr Tan Chik Heok, Principal of TAR College on 4th March 2010 at the Function Room, Club House, TAR College Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.

The signing was witnessed by honorable guests Ms Christina Foo, Vice President of Malaysian Institute of Malaysia (MIA); Mr. Muhammad Imran Kunalan Abdulah, General Manager of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC); Mr. Abdul Saman Taip, Senior Assistant Director, Public and International Affairs, Malaysian Qualifications Agency and other invited guests, i.e. representatives from ACCA UK, CIMA, CPA, MAICSA, lecturers from UK universities, AXP's clients and TAR College's students..

The MoU has initiated a collaboration between TAR College’s School of Business Studies and AXP to incorporate Audit Express (AE), into the curriculum of TAR College’s accountancy courses.

The collaboration provides an opportunity for accounting students to gain exposure to hands-on experience by using AE in the classroom. AXP and TAR College will jointly develop audit simulation studies and AXP will also conduct AE Workshop for students. This partnership aims to produce more capable and skills graduates, to narrow the competency gap between graduates and industry and to further enhance employment marketability of TAR College's accounting graduates.

MIA Vice President, Ms Christina Foo who was present at the signing ceremony said that the MIA is pleased by the initiative of both organizations which not only enhances the quality of future accounting graduates but also assists in promoting the overall accountancy profession.

During the event, AXP director Mr Ken Lai also presented prizes to the three top students, i.e. Ms Chan Hui Hui, Ms Tan Hui Min and Mr Yap Choon Wei, who attended the AE Workshop and Certification conducted in January 2010 for TAR College accounting students.
